The Kamco KPD Series Press Automation Controller is ideal for use in mechanical power press automation applications. The programmable limit switches are used to control events such as feeder (feed the pilot release), air blow off, part lubricators and more. The die protection assures the flow of material through the press. It can detect events such as short feed, part injection, buckle detection and progression. Other features include brake wear indication, stroke/batch and tool counters, job storage, and password protection.

The KPD system incorporates 6 Programmable Limit Switch outputs with up to 2 dwells per limit. The limits can be programmed for dwell on/dwell off or dwell on/time/ off outputs. The limits also include speed compensation settings, allowing limits to turn on sooner as the machine speed increases.

Programable Die Protection

Features

Four fully programmable die protection inputs are provided on the KPD controller. These inputs can be programmed for cyclical or static events. The inputs are 24VDC either sinking or sourcing. The system includes a 120VAC to 24 VDC power supply to feed the controller and provide power for sensors.

The KPD incorporates powerful features to make automation simple and efficient. There are 50 different jobs that can be stored in memory to quickly recall all settings. Stroke, batch and tool counters can automatically track parts. The brake wear monitor can detect wear and/or excessive stopping time.
